Detailed the truck last week while I was off work. First day back...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

On top of that I cracked not one, but TWO rims the other day. This is why I can’t have nice things.

Cracking rims sucks.  But detailing does benefit the car even if you can’t keep it clean.  Getting a good coat of wax or protectant on the paint and getting the dirt out of the upholstery makes it repel dirt and last longer.

Manufacturing defect for sure. Don’t buy XD/ KMC wheels.

You lucky sod. I’d have great fun keeping that clean.

It’s not fair. Everyone else gets all the fun.

The fact that you cracked 2 indicates poor quality rims which is different than a manufacturing defect...you can’t have nice things because you didn’t buy nice things :P

Nice truck though

I’d tend to agree with you, XD’s are on the lower end of the truck wheel totem pole, but since I’m constantly getting stuck and spinning them in mud, gravel, etc. and ruining the finish I refuse to spend $ 5k+ on forged wheels.

However! I know many people that run these wheels in the same conditions as me and have had no issues over 4+ years of abuse . So I’m going with manufacturing defect/bad batch.

Fair enough. FWIW I think the chrome rims look better anyways

I don’t hate ‘em but with the big tires (mandatory in these conditions) the stock wheels rub on the front sway bar.

An offset is needed to push the wheels out to clear the sway bar &  mud flaps .

Get some wheel spacers , would be better than those XD wheels.

Yea, it’s pretty ridiculous. This one has clearly been lifted though.
